According to the results of the field survey of reserve sources of drinking water supply in the controlled areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions

According to the results of the field survey of reserve sources of drinking water supply in the controlled areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions (2016) and the analysis of the results (2017) by the specialists of ITGIP NANU and UkrRI of Civil Protection of the Emergent Service of Ukraine with the support of international institutions for the first time for the Donbas region assessment of environmental risks of the existing water supply system in the conditions of integrated influence of factors of military actions and accelerated flooding of mines.

The results of the carried out research indicated the need for the accelerated transition of the systems of drinking water and household water supply to the use of explored reserves of fresh groundwater, which are protected from surface contamination and direct influence of man-made factors.

The specialists of ITGIP of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Kiev NU T.Shevchenko research on technogenic changes in the geodynamic regime of the Kryvbas mineral complexes (2017) allowed to establish a regional reduction of engineering seismic safety of residential and industrial agglomerations as a result of the integrated impact of long-term use of drill-explosive technologies. The annual use of up to 90 thousand tons of explosive substances, as evidenced by the estimates, causes the formation of a seismic energy load on the technogenic-geological system (TGS) “mining complex-geological environment” at the level of the energy potential of the earthquake to 3- 4 points.

Under conditions of practically continuous flooding, the presence of areas of natural and technogenic landslide and karst failures that adversely affect the seismic stability of potentially hazardous objects and the safety of life in the region, the obtained data require the improvement of the ecological monitoring system of the natural and man-made geosystem Kryvbas on the basis of remote and ground methods , as well as the creation of a mathematical geodynamic model of the region.
