At the end of August, scientists of the Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space: Head of the Department of Environmental Research, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Vasyl Trisniuk, Senior Researcher, Doctor of Economics, Professor Lidiia Goroshkova, and Senior Researcher, Candidate of Technical Sciences Vyacheslav Okharev visited Zaporizhzhia and Khortytsia Island. The visit was prompted by the scientists’ interest in the ecosystem of Khortytsia Island.
The scientists have completed a study of lakes on Khortytsia Island, which will be useful for developing a policy for the protection of natural areas in wartime and for recovery after the war. The team of Zaporizhzhia National University provided the scientists with optimal conditions for their work.
During the visit, they also met with representatives of Zaporizhzhia National University: Vice-Rector for Research Gennadii Vasylchuk, Professors Oleksandr Rylskyi and Valerii Domnich, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Biology Volodymyr Vovchenko, and Deputy Director for Research of the Yurii Potebnyi Engineering Education and Research Institute Karina Belokon. The discussion touched upon the current state of Ukrainian education, the importance of scientific work at ZNU and key areas of future cooperation between scientific and educational institutions. As a result of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed.
