First international scientific conference of young scientists and specialists on theme “Role of multidisciplinary approach in solving actual problems of fundamental and applied sciences” (Earth, Technical, and Chemical), Baku, Azerbaijan

On 15-16 October 2014, the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS), the Council of Young Scientists of ANAS with the support of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) organized the First international scientific conference of young scientists and specialists “Role of multidisciplinary approach in solving actual problems of fundamental and applied sciences (”Earth, technical and chemical sciences)” dedicated to the Oil Workers’ Day of the Azerbaijan Republic. The Conference was held in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan. The purpose of the Conference was to discuss the achievements in the sphere of Earth, technical and chemical sciences, and sharing experiences among young scientists and specialists.Together with the young scientists of Azerbaijan, the International scientific conference was attended by young scientists and specialists from many countries of the world: Ukraine, Germany, Turkey, Georgia, Netherland, Russia, USA, Iran, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and others.

The Conference addressed the issues related to the following disciplines: geophysics, geodynamics, geomechanics and mud volcanoes, geology, geochemistry, hydrogeology, and development of deposits of useful minerals, ecogeography, landscapes, climatology and geomorphology, alternate sources of energy, inorganic chemistry, nanomaterials, catalysis and physical chemistry, petrochemistry, biochemistry, agricultural chemistry and chemistry of high-molecular compounds, multidisciplinary use of information and communication technologies.

The submitted reports on the mentioned issues have been published in the book of abstracts of the conference reports.

The employees of the ITGIS of the NAS of Ukraine took an active part in the work of various sections, and submitted the following reports:

–  “Technology of environmental assessment of pollution of soils” Klimenko V. I.;

– “Spatial analysis of distribution of pollution of surface waters by methods of GIS and remote  sensing” Anpilova E. S.;

– “Use of modern information technologies for management of places of the accumulation of  wastes” Novokhatskaya N. A.

Following the results of the Conference, the young scientists of the ITGIS of the NAS of Ukraine received Certificates of Participation.
