The Council of Young Scientists of the Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (ITGIS NAS of Ukraine) is a permanently operating collegial advisory body under the Director of ITGIS NAS of Ukraine. It was established by Order No. 26-s of ITGIS NAS of Ukraine dated 20.12.2013, pursuant to Resolution No. 206 of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine dated 23.06.1999 “On the List of Measures for Replenishing NAS of Ukraine Institutions with Young Scientists and Strengthening Work with Young Scientists and Specialists of NAS of Ukraine.”

Regulations on the Council of Young Scientists of ITGIP

Purpose

The primary purpose of the Council is to comprehensively support the scientific, research, and other creative work of young scientists at ITGIS NAS of Ukraine, and to build a strong professional academic environment by fostering communication, protecting the rights of young scientists, and maximizing the scientific potential of ITGIS NAS of Ukraine’s youth.

Objectives

To achieve its purpose, the Council pursues the following objectives:

  1. Ensuring the exercise of legal rights and advocating for the interests of young scientists.
  2. Providing advisory, methodological, organizational, and technical support to young scientists at ITGIS.
  3. Participating in the organization of public scientific and other events (conferences, seminars, intensives) and facilitating young scientists’ participation in such events, including science outreach activities.
  4. Collecting and disseminating information and cooperating with foundations and organizations that provide grant-based and other support for scientific research and the activities of scientific societies, including youth organizations.
  5. Participating in the organization and development of national and international scientific cooperation among young scientists.
  6. Promoting the enhanced status of young researchers in the conduct of scientific, technical, and other types of research work.
  7. Supporting the professional development and career growth of young scientists at ITGIS.
  8. Comprehensively fostering the development of the ITGIS NAS of Ukraine young scientist as a modern researcher with a broad democratic worldview.

Areas of Activity

Since its establishment, the Council of Young Scientists of ITGIS NAS of Ukraine has carried out activities in the following areas:

  • Organizing open popular science lectures and other science outreach events, as one of the Council’s primary areas of work — involving and engaging young scientists and leading researchers of the Institute, as well as official partners and collaborating organizations;
  • Organizing seminars and intensives related to the main research directions of ITGIS and the fundamentals of scientometrics;
  • Performing an educational and informational function to disseminate important scientific and methodological materials, current information about domestic and international scientific conferences, publications, events, and developments in the life of young scientists in Ukraine;
  • Establishing connections and cooperation with Councils of Young Scientists of other NAS of Ukraine institutes and institutions, higher education institutions, scientific societies, and other youth science organizations in Ukraine and abroad — including participation and representation in the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine Department of Informatics and the NAS of Ukraine Council of Young Scientists.
