On May 23-25, 2023, the conference “Modern Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics – 2023” was held in Lviv at the Y.S. Pidstryhach Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

Academician Y.S. Pidstryhach has carried out in-depth research in the field of thermodynamics of non-equilibrium processes, thermomechanics, mechanothermodiffusion, magneto-thermomechanics of conducting bodies, hydroacoustics, mechanics of coated bodies and surface phenomena, and other areas of modern mechanics. He also worked on topical mathematical problems of mechanics, applied mathematics, and other related sciences, and constantly searched for new forms of interaction between science and industry.

In the section “Mathematical Modeling and Information Technologies for Solving Problems Important for Defense and Security of the State, Including Cybersecurity”, the conference was attended by the staff of ITGIS NASU with a report on “Modeling the Response of Buildings and Structures to Dynamic Impacts Using Digital Twins“.
